REVIEW:

Nokia has released the update for version 2 (native) application for Nokia Maps 3. Now, the Nokia Maps application works in parallel with Ovi. This combination allows you to do travel planning on the computer and then synchronize with the phone.
Version 3 of Maps application includes the following features: high-resolution aerial images, 3D landmarks for 216 cities and topography maps, viewing a new route when planning the route, and during the journey, to guide the acquisition Navigation step by step.
"Nokia has increased the usability of Maps, and with the integration of Ovi services, the functionality of this service can also be seen," says Michael Halbherr, vice president of location based experiences, Nokia. "Enabling Nokia Maps the service synchronize my favorite places between the mobile device and PC, turns out to be the main reason for anyone to change, other personal navigation devices to Nokia Maps service."
Walk, pedestrian navigation has been improved and now shows directions in a straight line, which allows finding the shortest distance between two points. In urban trips beeps and vibrations during navigation to warn of the need for conversion.
To date, the Nokia Maps 3 is only available for phones with Symbian FP1 and FP2.

Installation
All occurred without major problems, only one has reported as likely to occur by Nokia itself.

If time to install the message "Not enough memory to start the application", open a file manager on your phone, and delete the folder "Cities" and the file "qif" memory card. Give just continue the installation.

Then just download the maps and voice via the Map Loader.

License

If you have your license that came when the equipment was purchased, even installing the new version with new maps and new voice, she continues.

Instability
The new version gives the impression of being much lighter and faster, but inexplicably boot problems occur that make the machine reboot. Not always, but it happens frequently. I think it's a bug to be fixed.

Hot keys
They are very practical. You can rotate the map by pressing 4 and 6. This greatly facilitates changing the viewing angle. The 5 key back to the default view.

Maps
I had the impression that they were updated, but I can not say that yet. Either way the look was more beautiful and detailed. Already such landmarks in the 3D ... I have not found anywhere in the country. If anyone finds any, please let us know.

Voice
Changed the voice of the Brazilian Portuguese language. Now no longer seems so artificial, gives the impression that someone is actually pointing the way.

Synchronization with OVI
This is the feature that I believe is the most anticipated. With it you can synchronize your favorite spots with its OVI account. You can also create new points and routes on the site and send them to your phone.
It's very simple:

1 - On the screen of Nokia Maps, open options, Tools, Settings, Syncronisation.
2 - Tell when you want to update (manual or at the time of start / end the program).
3 - Also tell them your account information (User and password). You've now asked if you want to upgrade. You can do this now or later, whatever.
4 - For future synchronizations you can open Options, My favorites, and click Syncronise with OVI.

To create your routes and waypoints on your computer, just access the site http://maps.ovi.com. Before starting to use will be prompted to install a plugin in order to open the maps. In fact the site has options to create shorter routes and faster, whether it is on foot or by car, you want to avoid and a few more settings. Also you can even see the condition of local time, an interesting feature that would be incorporated into the cell.

Well, all the only option they have not tested was the "Point me to" that shows the direction of nearby points. No more, I can say is that even with a few bugs this new version is much better than the previous one (at least so far).

Update available for Nokia Maps 3.0, which is now also compatible with the operating system Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 and Feature Pack 2. The program won a number of small bug fixes, plus the following features:

    - The startup screen is displayed your current position. If your position is not found in seconds, you will be taken to last known position.
    - Option to rotate the map so you can see, for example, 3D landmarks from all directions. Simply press the keys 4 and 6. Pressing 5 takes you back to the view with north up.
    - In 3D view mode, you can tilt the view by pressing 2 and 8.
    - 2D/3D mode works with all map modes, ie with Map / Satellite / Terrain.
    - My Favorites Menu is now cleaner and the History menu has been moved up.
    - My Places has option "Point me to" that shows the direction of where it is stored somewhere or March.
    - In addition to the synchronization and Collections with Ovi MapsBeta and vice versa (use in online mode, enable Internet connection), you can now plan routes in OVI MapsBeta and synchronize your device.
